Medical cover/First Aid

Medical cover, it’s a minefield! We know, but we can help you!

We provide a service that goes above that of first aid! We provide an advanced service, giving lifesaving medical techniques and equipment above first aiders.

All of our team members are qualified and all have to undergo vetting that includes verification of qualifications, DBS, identity, background, references and many other checks. Here at SSGL Group, we pride ourselves on vetting to above industry standards!

From small and community events to large events, corporate, TV, film and everything in between, we travel to your site, anywhere in the UK!

Using the Purple Guide, our experience, and our knowledge, we ensure that your event receives the most appropriate level of medical coverage.

In accordance with the Purple Guide, our first aiders only work alongside higher grades.

The HSE says: “As well as workers (at the event), the HSE strongly recommends that you include the visiting public in your first aid, ambulance and medical needs assessment.”

Fortunately, there is some good news. We can help you! Contact our knowledgeable team today!

We have a track record of providing services that alleviate pressure on the NHS, as private providers are supposed to do.

Aside from medical cover, we can also help with planning and communication with local NHS ambulance services and hospitals.

The Purple Guide, created in collaboration with the HSE, provides guidance for events. NHS trusts and other organisations use the guide.

We will collaborate with you and officials, including the safety advisory group (SAG), to create and agree on provision.

CAUTIONS ABOUT USING FIRST AIDERS AT EVENTS

First aid is very basic, and they cannot deal with anything else effectively. Our medical coverage is far more extensive.

Many coroners and public inquiries have stated that event environments require more resources than first aiders.

Meet public safety requirements with us!

Event organisers have prime responsibility for the health and safety of:

  • your workers, including volunteers (those not working for monetary gain such as a ticket)
  • members of the public (your audience, the crowd / those attending)
  • contractors working for you at the event

Ask yourself:

  • Do I have enough knowledge about event medical cover, including the purple guide, medical grades and capabilities?
  • Have I thought through and implemented good health and safety procedures and checks?
